Would Love To Do a Zombie Release Party, When are You Available?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

We want you to be able to come to our EP release party!

We’ll be dressing up like zombies, and we extend the invitation to you to dress up like a zombie as well. They’re will be a discount to partiers who come as the undead.

We’re contacting a few different all ages venues in Phoenix and are still in the process of setting it up, and we wanted to see what dates would work best for you, our hopeful attendees.

That’s right! You’re so important to the process we’re asking you what date works best.

Obviously, we’ll have to settle on one date, so a range of dates or specific dates that won’t work would be best.

Year in Review: 8 was good for 7

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Hello everybody,

2008 has been a good year, and we’re looking forward to 2009 with great expectancy.

This year we released our eponymous debut album; a 12 song collection of songs recorded at the same house we lived in. It came together brilliantly. It’s been a fantastic tool for getting the word out about us, and we’ve been able to sell at least one at every show we’ve played since it’s been released.

We had an amazing CD release show at the Modified; diligently well documented with photos by Jeremiah Scheffer. It was quite amazing to see the Modified full of Seven Car Pileup fans.

We played some great shows at some new favorite places (Phase 54, Last Exit, Desert Ridge Marketplace). As well, we were able to rock out the Glendale Glitters block party and Cheba Hut’s 420 party.

We met some awesome new people from some great bands (Talk Fiction, Peppermint James, Kinch, Juicy Newt, Flux Manifesto)

Last but certainly not least, we joined ranks with our new best friend and manager Alisha Forrester Scott. Not only is she a sweetheart and a true friend, she’s helped us in ways not imaginable without her. We truly appreciate her assistance thus far.

We’re sure 2009 will bring even more fun. We’re planning to record and release a few new songs, play many more shows, and much much more.

See you next year,

Jess Mark & Mike

Also, a big ginormous thanks to everybody who helped make our CD release show such a great success. Thanks to the photo snappers, show tapers, sound person, manager, the Modified, Dave and Amy of Peppermint James, all of Talk Fiction, and most importantly are wonderful super supportive audience. It would have been impossible without you. We recorded the show, and there is supposedly video footage and tons of pictures, so I’m sure we’ll be posting new media on here soon.

As well, December 19th Mark will be having a “He’s not dead yet!” birthday show at Last Exit. We’ll keep you posted on all the details, because all we know yet is that the show is going to be fun!

Some Recent Happenings

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

We are scheduled to be featured in the URB.com online newsletter on October 3. We’ll keep you posted on details.

This Friday we’re playing for free at Desert Ridge Marketplace (101 & Tatum Blvd Phoenix ) . The show is going to be accoustic. Come on out for a chill night outside of Seven Car songs and wonderful Arizona fall night tempatures. This show is all ages.

We’re starting a new guerilla marketing campaign called “funky sounds in the restroom”. Contact us if you’d be intrested in helping drop funky sounds in bathrooms around your area.

Goodyear is for lovers.

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

We’re playing a “nirvana style” semi-acoustic show on the 14th (This Saturday) at Ground Control Coffee in Goodyear. I know this might be a bit far out there for our eastern Maricopa county fans, but we do have to play for the folks in the west every once in a while. You should come, it should be liquid awesome.

That’s right liquid awesome…

Our Weekend

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

We were lucky this weekend to play two shows.

The first show we played at our wonderful manager’s house for her daughter’s birthday party. I have to say it was the strangest show I’ve ever played! We played for what has to be the coolest group of kids we’ve ever scene. This little group of kids should be listening to Hanna Montana Jonas Brothers or some other Disney Channel rock band, but they all seemed perfectly entertained and enthused by our flavor of funk infused punk-rock.

On Saturday night, after an interesting session of park busking, we played for quite the opposite group of people than we did Friday night. We played a bar in Prescott (Sundance’s) full of more experienced rock folks. Between sets they blasted AC/DC, Metallica, Saliva, and other straight ahead rock fair. Yet, they all responded quite positively to our more left field sound. We had a few random dancers, and I have to say that Prescott turned out to be a fun town to play in.

We also completed our Redemption single, which we’ll have to show off in a future blog.
